Hi Matt, the way Blend works is it creates a new smooth surface between 2 open edges of 2 existing surfaces, like this for example:

(the above taken from the documentation page here:
http://moi3d.com/1.0/docs/moi_command_reference7.htm#blend

But in the file that you've got there, you only have one surface piece there - so that won't blend, you need 2 surfaces to blend.

Are you trying to make a kind of "T" juncture there?

If so, then I think what you need to do first is to create the other surface, you can do that by using Draw solid / Cylinder, or if you want you can select that circle you've already got there (just delete the projected one, you won't need it), and run Construct / Extrude to punch it out to make a second solid that goes through the first one, then use Construct / Boolean / Union to fuse those 2 pieces together into one single piece, then select the new edge between them and use Construct/Fillet to round off that juncture.

Here is a video of what that looks like:

Is that the kind of thing you were after here? If not then maybe I'll need some more information on what you're trying to do.

Otherwise, let me know if you need more details on any of the steps that are happening there.

Hope this helps!

- Michael

Yes Pilou, BurrMan was what guy's in hockey used to call me. Kind of a macho thing I guess... Everybody gets a nickname!

The Gibber, P Man and BurrMan are in the Forum at the moment.

As for the Origins of "Burr", I really dont know. Could be Mom was "Cold" when I was born. Could be I'm a "Sticker" in your side. (No comments from you Danny! :) Could be I'm a complex puzzle!

More likley a bit of swedish in the blood let Mom Choose a swedish name. "FOG"

If only it meant kind hearted, caring individual......Then I'de have it made! Dancing on happy street.

Whoa is me!

Yet another great video from the Burrman!

Good stuff there Burr, especially that it has instructional voice over, if they say a picture says a thousand words, adding voice over doubles it !
I'm trying to get the time to do a tutorial myself, and then you'll get to here my Aussie accent, mate! :)

>(No comments from you Danny! :)

Well, now that you've mentioned it ;) I Googled 'Burr' and hit the 'I'm Feeling Lucky' button and, lol a sh_t load of definitions come up, did you know that Aaron Burr was the US vice president between 1756-1836 ? :D

Cheers
~Danny~

Hi Pilou,

Blend only works 1 edge to 1 edge, It won't do multiple edges simultaneously.

Le mélange fonctionne seulement 1 bord à 1 bord, il ne fera pas les bords multiples simultanément ;)

Cheers

Hi Pilou,

A curve like you are describing will be made up of multiple segments, you should be able to see them by using Edit/Separate on the rounded-edge star.

That's the difference between it and the circle one, the circle one only has one segment which makes for one trim edge when you cut with it, the multi-segment curve will make multiple edges when you cut with it.

Looks like a nice place to tie up your sailboat anyway!

I noticed in your UI you dont have any snap options on. Try at least the 2 right ones (Object and straight). They make for some nice quick work!

FYI

I use the snaps almost all the time. In this case I had just started the app and didn't pay attention to them for my sample. Accuracy wasn't necessary.

Thanks again, guys, for all the great help.
