Moi3D - KitBash addon

Hi,

By the past few monts I`m struggling with the question "which software / workflow is the best for me?". I`m more passionate then the pro so I would like to use one workflow, one software and get it know best as I can instead of switching between different programs.

I figured out that the best solution for me is Moi3D which I bought few years ago. This is great software, its possibilities are unlimited ( at least in the field which I`m intrested in: hard surafces etc). But there is one reason why I still look at the Blender direction (despite the fact that I`m C4D user). It is the massive addon collection that improves working with different inserts, plugs etc. Just like Chip Walters KitOps plugin for example (https://gumroad.com/l/kitops).

I know that there is similar script here in MoI (https://moiscript.weebly.com/kitbash.html) but I`m having real trouble with understanding how to install and use it. Can you help me with it?

Another thing is, will this script work in Moi v4? I dont want to get used to it, and then choose beetwen older version of software or do not having this great addon.

The last thing is, that after all this years Moi should have a clean webpage with list of all usefull scripts, documentions etc. In general its documention should be updated and completed but this is topic for another time:)

Best regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew, that is using the Object Library plugin from Max Smirnov which is a part of the CustomUI extension. You can get it at:

Yes, there is a version of CustomUI that works with MoI v4.

If you go to the "Resources" link on the main web page, there are links to collections of the most frequently used scripts here:

I do want to make it easier to browse and install script in the future, I have some ideas on having a script browser that you would pull up in MoI that would connect to an online script repository. It will be quite a lot of work to make that though so I'm not sure when it will happen.

Hi Andrew

Before there was KIT OPS, I used Max's excellent plugin to add kitbashing to MoI for myself:

Unfortunately, that website is no longer available ever since Dropbox killed their public linking. But I'm sure you can see it is possible.

Thanks guys!

Thanks to you it brightened up a bit :) Although I am still looking around with curiosity at all these "magic" plugins for Blender. It seems that thanks to them you can really speed up your workflow. Plus, easy installation and great documentation are definitely advantages. I have to figure it out somehow, which will be better for me :)
