I ran into this construction issue that seems to get in the way of other operators.

When selecting an edge from a surface, I notice some of the edges are segmented. Perhaps coming from cutting a mesh with a line and boolean difference, followed by a mirror operator.

Is there a way to rebuild a surface, or edges to get rid of the extra segments?

I was thinking of using join, but it doesn't seem to run on a surface.

Where are the segmented edges coming from, and how could I resolve them?

Hi Berube, I'd need to look at your 3DM model file and possibly repeat your construction steps to answer your question about where are those segmented edges coming from.

If the segments are smooth to each other you can use the Merge command though to glue them together into a longer edge:
