Hello.
Does anyone use moi3d objects for renering in Thea render? I just tried but as I can see even 3ds files from moi3d are like obj file and have polygons. As result my texture in UV projection are on every single polygon and I can't use UV projection for texturing.
What could I do in this situation?

Hi glmr, if you want to do UV mapping you might try using one of these programs to set it up:

UVMapper: http://www.uvmapper.com/
Unwrap3D: http://www.unwrap3d.com/u3d/index.aspx
Unfold3D: http://www.polygonal-design.fr/

Any of those should be able to do an unwrapping operation to set up UV mapping that would work better for you than the default UVs that MoI generates. You would probably want to export to .obj format using the "Output: Quads & Triangles" when you export out from MoI.

And use Blender for a free (I think??) way to do UV unwrapping:

Hi glmr,

I would suggest you consider 3DCoat for doing this. It can automatically create UV's PLUS it has an awesome PBR texturer built in.

Here's how you get from Moi to 3DCoat and mapping:

Here's how you get from 3DCoat PBR to Thea:
