Thanks Ty.

Learning new things is fun. I've recently been porting some of my older stuff, (like the drone ambulance I did awhile back for FASTCO
https://www.fastcodesign.com/3041696/this-drone-ambulance-is-totally-wild-and-totally-inevitable) into room-scale VR and it's amazing what you find out about your designs when you blow them up to real size. In my case I found out the Drone was too short, too wide, the seat too large, the gurney too large. Too much attention to tiny details and not enough attention to mid-scale details ( http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_education/primary_secondary_and_tertiary_shapes/primary_secondary_and_tertiary_shapes.htm ).

It's a fascinating design learning experience. If you have access to a GEAR VR headset you can see:

Colleagues,

Do to a number of unexpected professional twists and turns, I find myself the owner of a new Mac book, and as such, I’d like to start running MOI on it. I’m sure the question is answered here on the forum many times, however, as I have a pair of new renders to post, I thought I’d just inquire here. If I download and install MOI on a second machine, do I simply put in my license key from the e-mail I received after my original purchase?

My guess is yes, however, I thought it worth asking.

Thank you!

Rage on,
Ty

You can install any number of Moi on any machine: the only thing : you must use only one version in the same time!
So yes the same key license number will work!

Ps : Stuning model!

Hi Ty, your render looks great! And yes like you thought and like Pilou said you just use your same license key that you received in e-mail. The original download links in that e-mail expire after 2 weeks but you can get a new download by putting in your license key here: http://moi3d.com/reinstall.htm

And yes like Pilou wrote above, you can install your same one purchased MoI license on any number of machines you own just as long as it's only actively launched and running on one of those installs at a time. You would only need to purchase an additional license for some other machine if you wanted some other person to be running it there at the same time.

One other note, if you're running the new Sierra OS on your new machine, you've got to move the MoI app into the /Applications folder for it to run due to some new download security mechanisms.

- Michael

Michael & Pilou,

That's great news -- thank you both -- !

These are busy times -- wish I had more time to just work on what I want.

Rage on,
Ty

Pilou,

As of yet, no I do not.

I do have a Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/Morphostemic/

However, most everything there is here.

Excellent!
you say somewhere "This is built in SketchUp"
so you make a mix between SketChupUp and Moi for certain parts?
Blended in Keyshot ?

Ps http://www.alieninsect.com is very cool one! ;)

Pilou,

I do work in SketchUp a great deal, as a matter of fact, it was my only 3D tool until I started playing around with MOI (I heard about SketchUp very early on when @Last software was just getting up and running in like, 2003 or 04).

What you've posted is from 1995 and is a straight up Prismacolor marker illustration (with some colored pencil and whiteout) -- which is the only way I worked between 1990 until 2004.

I don't have a 3D workflow for organic designs -- for that I still go back to markers. I've not done any organic designs in a while.

That design was done for Guillermo del Toro's first American feature, MIMIC.

Glad you like it -- !

Hi TyRuben and thanks a lot for your renderings!

I got an idea...

I think that it could be very interesting if you want to share "Morphostemic Anti-Gear" .3dm files with Zarkow
just in order to see what kind of strange vehicle he could "tailor" around your "engine".

What do you think about it ?

Have a nice day.

Marco,

Sure.

However, I suspect that Zarkow is diligently working on creations of their own design -- !@!

Hi TyRuben.

@You : "..I suspect that Zarkow is diligently working on creations of their own design..."

Yep... it is very likely :)

See you.

Very nice examples of making detailed work in Moi! It would be good to have the Moi screenshots of everyone of them however. They could constitute a whole learning class regarding the use of the app.
