Hi Teddy,

I think you may be working harder than you need to.

Consider these 2 screens (1 on top of the second)

1) Your object
2) A slice LINE (not plane)

Just boolean difference the LINE from the solid and it will work (3 as you want.

Hi Chipp, yup just using 2D curves to boolean with instead of always building surfaces can definitely speed things up!

Internally the booleans will extrude that line into a cutting plane for you, and also it handles making the extruded plane to be a little larger than the base object automatically.

If you have a line that goes parallel to the x y or z axis lines, there can be multiple different directions for the automatic extrusion, and the view that you use to select the line in becomes significant.

Possibly that's what you ran into, but I can't be sure without seeing an example file.
