I seem to recall someone posted on this forum a modeler a few years back that relied heavily on extrusions. I think its selling point was that it also had some sort of library of premade objects that looked sci-fi -ish so that you could quickly model spaceships and the like. Does anyone recall that post? I seem to think the person that made the post wanted Michael to add something in V2 (maybe V3) that had a similar function. I tried searching for it, but I couldn't find the post.

Hi Dave, I'm not remembering that specific post. Maybe it was about Groboto?

Yes maybe this! :) 3D Coat was the first to propose this sort of thing! ;)

That's the one, Pilou. Somehow, I knew you would recall it. :) It reminded me of this spaceclaim software earlier in this thread...

Hi Frenchy,

I remember seeing that 3D Coat video. I was so excited I ended up buying the software. I quickly found out how difficult hard modeling is in voxel and topology modelers! Not very exact, but still well worth the trip learning it.

To my knowledge, DoGA (from Japan) may have had the first kitbash modeler, which was a pretty neat low poly modeler which had lots of kitbash parts. You could build a neat mech or spaceship in a jif.

Here's a Vue render I did years ago of a 'skimmer' I quickly built in DoGA:

I'm not sure if DoGA is even still around.

Here are some other vehicles I modeled in DoGA:
