I've just released a new 3.1 version of MoI (Mac version), to fix problems when running in OS X 10.11 "El Capitan".

You can get MoI v3.1 by putting in your license key here: http://moi3d.com/reinstall.htm

This version should fix launching MoI on 10.11 and also fix problems with maximized viewports not appearing correctly.

Disabling rootless or installing XQuartz separately are not required (there was some previous discussion and testing for these).
If you've previously disabled rootless you can re-enable it again with the instructions here.

Please let me know if you still see any problems.

Thanks,
- Michael

Worked fine! Thanks. I was able to also transfer my commands, and UI folder, along with my older moi.ini file. No problems so far to report. :-)

And it even works with latest Yosemite (10.10.5) too for those that might be waiting for other developers to catch-up before upgrading to 10.11 :)

Hi Finema,

> How to install it (v3.1) without losing my shortcut keys and command (V3) ?

The shortcut keys are stored in the moi.ini file which will be in your user directory. Version 3.1 will use that same moi.ini file so the shortcut keys setup will be the same in 3.1 as it was in 3.0

If you've added any additional plug-ins in the commands folder, you will need to copy those over from the Version 3.0 commands folder into the Version 3.1 commands folder. It's ok to just copy all files and say "no" when Finder asks you if you want to overwrite files.

Hi Burr, that's the "sticky pin" icon for a sticky message topic - means it will stay at the top of topics list while it is still sticky. I don't think I've used it before but I thought it might be a good idea to make it more visible to people at least for the next couple of weeks.

Hmmm - the part of the forum that handles it must be a bit buggy. I'll turn it on again for now.

Interestingly, when its off and i post from my android phone, i have to hit the post button twice (hit post and it re renders the post button down and outside of the editing window, then hit that one to apply post)..... when its on, a single hit on the post button applys the post.

Maybe wait till your digging into the forum to get into anything.

Michael,

Does this update break anything for us luddites still on OS 10.6.8?

Is there any advantage to upgrading at this point, or should I wait until I update my machine (in a few months)?

Thanks for such a great program and awesome support!

Worked perfectly for me after installing 3.1 version. (I had tried the Wineskin changes in 3.0 but had the window issue) The settings in Wineskin were already set as needed in 3.1, and I didn't do the rootless mod. Just FYI for anyone wondering how this is working.

Thank you Michael.

@Peter - that's great!, I'm glad that it's working well.

@Mark G re:

It's not supposed to, but I do not have 10.6 over here and I have not heard yet from anyone if it's ok or not. Would you like to try it and see if it's ok? You don't need to remove the previous version when you get the new one, they can coexist side by side.

I think the new version has a faster startup time, but that's probably the only noticeable difference if you were not running into any problems.

thanks for fixing this so quickly.
this seems to work for me. the 3D view is fine now, and there's no need anymore to change settings for the X11 in order to make it work.

Michael,

I'll try the update in parallel with my current version and let you know if there is any problem with 10.6.8. It may be a few days before I report back as something big has unexpectedly dropped in my lap.
