Looks for overlapping curves/edges/doubles ---> Zoom to detail

1.Two profile lines present/overlapped

2.Dirty doubles

And remaining profile/edge curves are not enough clean

Hi Chipp - I've attached a 3DM file with a solid version.

It looks like probably 2 different problems in those different areas - one is edges slightly more apart than the join tolerance and the other is edges split into some micro fragment which then does not join well.

To solve the first problem you can shrink the object and then rejoin it. To do that select the object, run Transform > Scale, then type 0 and push Enter to specify 0,0,0 as the scale origin point. Then type in 0.1 and push Enter to apply a 0.1 scale factor. Now your object is shrunk down 1/10 in size, run Edit > Separate and then Edit > Join to rejoin it and that will solve one of those areas. Repeat the scale steps with a 10 scale factor to scale it back up again.

For the other area whatever the messed up edge split is can be fixed by using the Merge command - push "N" to select naked edges (have the shortcut for N set up as described here: http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=6051.2) , the properties panel will show that there are 4 edges selected which is anomalous, you would want only 2 naked edges there. With the 4 edges still selected push the Tab key and then type Merge and then push Enter. Now there will only be 2 edges, select the whole object and use Edit > Separate and Edit > Join to rejoin it and that's how I got the attached solid version.

Hope this helps!

- Michael

Thanks SO much for the help! Much appreciated. I especially enjoy it when I learn something NEW! Funny thing is I did try the opposite of the scale routing. I scaled it by 1000 UP but NOT down. Makes more sense. Also, I did try selecting the edges and typing 'merge' but it did nothing. I didn't think of doing it right after naked edges. Thanks AGAIN!!
