Oi there!

You could use the Divide large than-option to refine the mesh in certain areas. Make sure, that you select Planes or All in the drop-down list.

Hi Playdo - yeah the slider by itself controls an angular measurement which will divide things based on curvature, with curvy pieces getting more polygons (the density of which is adjusted with the slider) and flat areas getting fewer, which is normally what you want if you're trying to avoid polygonal silhouettes for a rendering for example.

If you want to have something different than that, the other settings can control a more uniform distance-based dicing, especially the "Divide larger than" setting that Marco shows.
