Ok, I see. So is there any script to distribute points / objects
evenly on the surface of a sphere ?

Hi Tom,

I think Max made one like that, look for "SpherePointsPlus" at his file archive:

Some intriguing and intricate patterns are possible with Wayne's SubDclassic node (based on Max's exceptional script) applied to vector-spherized irregular polyhedrons.

Since it is been a long time since there has been a post to this interesting thread, I post this example.

Have a great weekend

Thanks Mik,

"this is a marvelous pattern!"

These patterns are simply derived from subdividing triangular facetted surfaces,
with the judicious application of "Tri2quad" option. However despite their ease of
generation, they can form quite beautiful aperiodic patterns.

Here's another example with surface relief.

Ken,

"I am breathless...."

Be careful, you don't want health authorities to misconstrue you,
whilst in the midst of this pandemic :)

But seriously, thank you for your kind words,
it really lifted my spirits.

Best wishes to you too.

James, I have to repeat myself, but you are realy Node Master.

You inspire me to save some time for exploration of Node Editor in more detail :-)

Thanks
Mik

"... time for exploration of Node Editor..."

I encourage you to do so,
it can be frustration at first,
but stick with it,
because once you break through,
it is an incredibility rewarding pursuit.

Persistence is key!
