Hi Michael
"But the base surface doesn't have to be a plane, it can be a curved surface something like this:"

must i do a flow for the base and the model before projection ?

can you send an example ?

thanks a lot.

<< After you have moved those to the back and finished the loft command you can delete your original curves, extract the Loft's edges using Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V and use those extracted curves for the Network

Works absolutly not for me!

I copy well the "edges" of the Loft change Points (Ellipse + Circle) and not the "closed curves" !
+ the original rounded sides
Make the Network : seam comes back in Front and not on left as during the moving point Loft!

Hi Finema!

I was interested.
Michael's method works,"you just have to slowly touch the object".
A little round at the top would be advantageous, I haven't done that yet.
And you have to push something back and forth.

Franz

I did for that case, a curve-to-curve flow from a straight line to a bent curve, as in the attached file. I didn't do it very carefully, just a demo of something to try.

Positioning your object and plane at an angle like Franz shows above seems like a good idea.

You have to move the seam point to a spot where one of the other direction curves has an endpoint.

It looks like you've moved it just by some random amount instead of having it land on a spot where the network has one of its other direction curves.

Yes that was that!
When I move points to some another previous existing intersections / "Sides curves" / Top/ Bottom that works! :)

I have believed that was a general concept! Move points anywhere you want so the seam! :)

Hi fine,
When i am having issues with base surface and target mapping, i sometimes solve it by creating a copy of my target object, then dicing and seperating a piece to be the base, then using the edit frame flat snap to get the base ready for the flow. The thing to watch for doing that is too much "fold over or bunching" when flattening the taget into a base.

I'm not in a position to demonstrate or play along right now...
