Yes, it is possible to save and then restore the current zoom level later on.

When you want to save it, use File > "Save As" and save to a .3dm file. Maybe name it something like "my project_saved view1.3dm".

Open the .3dm file you just made and delete all the objects in it and resave it.

Later on if you want to return to this view and zoom level, use File > Open to open your saved view .3dm file.

Then use either File > Import or copy/paste to bring in your objects. When you use "Import" that will bring in the objects without changing the current views unlike "Open".
