I have an object a little bit away from origin.

Is there a possibility to turn in 3D around the selected object?

Of course yes! :)
Click the Object
Click the Reset button (middle bottom view)
One click = Center the Object
Click and Move over the icone Rotate! (middle bottom view)
Another Click on the Reset button = center all the Objects

There is also a sort of "TurnTable" Command here:

Hi Rudl, yup like Pilou says the Reset button is what you want to center the view on the selected object. That will both zoom that object to be framed on the screen and also set the rotation pivot point for the 3D view to be at the center of that object as well.

If you want to focus in on one specific point of the object like a corner of a box or something like that instead of the whole box, then use the Area zoom tool that is on the left side of that same toolbar - in addition to zooming in on a particular area it will also set the rotation pivot point for the 3D view to be at the particular point that you picked as the center of the zoom rectangle.
