Hi eric, I've added it to the wishlist here: http://moi3d.com/wiki/Wishlist

But so far I just have not heard from very many people asking about that feature.

One problem with it, is that it can be a somewhat disruptive mechanism when it kicks in especially with large models where saving may take a bit of time.

If your house or office is prone to having power failures, I'd definitely recommend a battery backup power supply (also called an Uninterruptible power supply or UPS), like this:

http://www.amazon.com/APC-Back-UPS-Outlet-550VA-120V/dp/B0019804U8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1276899120&sr=1-1

They will usually have them at an office supply store as well. That will give you at least a few minutes to save your work and shut down your computer when the power goes out.

That's saved me more than once before myself!

Good advice, Michael ...

I have had two of those killed by electrical surges. But they did save some work in days past.

A good point about backup saves being a pain with big files ... perhaps it is better just to save regularly ... it only take one mouse click and remembering to take time for a save and a deep breath when working ..

If you ever do implement it I would think it should be a settings option.

cheers,
eric
