Anyone got any ideas how to smoothly resurface the attached semi-parabaloid? I resorted to a network because various lofts, sweeps, and rail revolves didn't give me what I'm after. f

Sorry this is brief, and rushed - have to dash out...

Have a look at the attached file.

After tracing half your parabolic curve ( using the freeform line with control points, in 'top view' with the 'points' turned on), I extruded half the height.

Then traced again quarter the oval outline shape of the dish, mirrored it and did a boolean diff. then mirrored it again to get the full height.

Maybe someone's else has another way...

- Hamish

Heres an easier version to try that will have a cleaner surface.

I selected your curves and used the edit frame widget to flatten out from both directions. Then I just extruded a solid and cut it with a boolean diff to create the surface.

The new cutting curves are heavy as I did a rebuild with a tight tolerance on the curves. But you could easily make very light curves for the operation.
