Cinch plug

Thanks to Daniele to show some rhino tutorials!
I decided to model the chinch plug. All went well during the model except for some small problems. So i had to do some things different that should have worked the same in MoI as it would in Rhino. For example the lofting of the circles. I could loft all of the at the same time. But just small problems and in the end i got my plug ready.
But now im facing a new problem i wanted the plug to be rendered photo-realistic and all that. But guess what, i totaly failed...

My Render, and what it looks like in the tutorial.

Im in desperate need of tips for texturing and rendering! I rendered with the Modeler, Renderer and animator Art of illusion.
If you want the file just say it.

Hi sayd,

Could you please describe a little bit more about the circle lofting problem that you ran into?

If you could post a .3dm model file that shows the problem, it would help to clarify it for me. Maybe there is a solution to it using an option in MoI that works slightly differently than Rhino, or maybe it is a bug that I need to fix up.

re: rendering - I don't think your render looks too bad. But lighting is one of the toughest things to set up for a good rendering. It is a pretty big subject, here is a book on it: http://www.3drender.com/light/index.html .

With lofting some care is needed, certainly when the lofted object has an hole.

Different results will show with different option, and with the example, the order the lofts are selected.

As with example, a "Straight" loft is needed, then the lofts need to be selected in correct order for construction:-

Select loft with "Straight":-

As you can see, the order of selection is how the surfaces are to be made, from 1 -> 2 -> 3 etc, (you could of course go in the other direction)

when done, then the loft should be correct.
