Hi All,
I imported a point file with Michael's script and got the result in red using the thro points option.
I imported the same file in the nodeeditor plugged it into the curve node and got the black result.
There are a lot of settings in the csv file node that I don't understand, do I need to adjust them to
match the red curve?
Cheers
Barry

Hello Barry,
the numbers for x,y,z ... are the positions of the values in the file. x=0,y=1 ... . -1 means no Evaluation. If you have a file with comments, then you can choose from which Position the file should be parsed - S Phrase -> start Phrase | E Phrase end Phrase.
I think the Problem is in the curve node you have used -> Switch from curve to Interpcurve in the info Panel.
Hope that helps!
Have a nice day
Karsten

e.g.:
#File
code:
Number x y z
1,7,5,3
2,3,5,7
3,4,98,6
end
You would set:
x=1
y=2
z=3
start Phrase is Number x y z
end Phrase is end
The leading line numbers would not be evaluated.

Hi Barry and Friend ,
Sending another method for building the Globoid Worm Gear-
We build the rotating shaft starting, this time,
from the four helix positioned in the points
of discomincteness of the teeth .....
The result seems good to me, but it must be said that for the
construction of this type of gears
we must conform to the parameters that govern
gear shaping, including tolerances, etc etc.
the posted one wants to be just an example of the methods
of construction ...
far from the mechanical precision imposed on the gears

Hi Karsten,
I have tried changing the curve type no good it seems that the curve which should be centred on the origin
is of to the right.
Have you tried the file I posted if not can you have a look as I am only saving the X/Y/Z coordinates ?
Many thanks.

Hi Alberto,
I am missing the network node so can you post it.

PS: found the network node thread can now study your nod.

Hello Friends
I saw this object, flipping through old images I had saved,
I was struck by its simple elegance and
I tried to rebuild it using Elephant-

find the result of my attempt.....
(I'm quite satisfied)

Hi Karsten ,
How are you?
I hope everything is OK-
The new Extension import, just posted , is fine
at least I think, if Barry's goal was to create a Heklix
with variable radius .... thanks for your intervention ...
but I believe that if I post some examples
from which we can better understand how to manage
the points imported ... would be the maximum ..
thanks again , and have a nice day

P.s. now only a background music is missing!
After that we could use Moi like a DJ in a dance floor :)

Hi,
can someone help I am trying to get the inverse of sine for a calc within the node editor.
Is there away to do this to get the angle in degrees or radians ?
Barry
Got it used asin() function

Hi Karsten,
Your M_PathArray node is extremely useful, however I have a thought of how it may be be made even more powerful.
If the input is a single decimal number < 1 (e.g. 0.6 as shown in attached image)
then a point would be positioned at that percentage of the curve length.
I know that something similar can now be achieve with use 0 & 1 concatenated to either side of the number; but this becomes a problem with multiprocessing multiple curves with input numarray parametrically determined by say proximity to attractor point.
Hopefully, this makes sense.
Thanks
James

Hi James, I agree with you, it would be extremely useful to be able to use
a single decimal or a decimal progression,
leaving out the concatenate with the No. 1
I hope Karsten can improve
the functionality of this Node, I do not think it's too difficult for him ...
at least I hope.....
