Hi All,
Having mapped surfaces with hexagon based tiling patterns with "HexTesselation"macro,
I am investigating the manipulation of individual tiles. Below is an experiment along these lines.

Hi James and Friends
I saw your answer, and I checked the surfTria file again
adjusted by you ..
I must say that the macro ExTasselation does not respond in a timely manner
to the Row and Col inputs as well as the output exagon number
at this link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/orqpc5jigc8lovh/M_ExGrid.zip/file
you will find the Macro that I have rectified, following
a method different from yours, but that presents an exact answer
between input data and output data ...
I did not have time to see the last files posted
I promise to do it as soon as possible
Have a nice day

Thanks Al,
>> M_ExGrid <<.
I look forward to looking at what you have done.
If it could reduce the generation of geometry of apertureVari3.nod, for example, that would be brilliant.
I am just glad that NE is been given deserved attention again.

Hi All,
Attached is nod file for generating a collar with pattern transition.
As always, be aware that generation of geometry may take half a minute or so.

Very interesting !
Do you think it's possible to create a nod to flow a module on a model ? (same as Paneling tool in Rhino)
module and model are create on my scene
At his time, i use Array and Flow command to do that but it's not flexible and parametric
see my example in screenshot
Thanks

waoouu ! Great !
it's a good start !
i have tested with a knurl pattern but the result is not uniform, the modules are streched and overlap
thanks again

Hi Finema and friends
at this link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/kqm1csr5w6b2g0o/31-05-Bottle_SimPanelingTool.zip/file
you will find the file, to adapt the object to the surface,
as you will see the approach is different from the amount that you have
posted James ... I think this also has its validity
Certainly it is not the paneling that can be achieved with
Paneling Tools- or Rhino's Morph Box (Grasshopper)
but it's always a good start for Moi-
You just have to open the file and then run it,
you will see different parameters, rows, columns, etc etc ...
change them to see how they work-
Have a nice day to all

Hi Finema,
This is an alternative simpler approach:
Click RUN
If nothing happens, click "Surface Index" switch
The target surface should be index either 0 or 1.
In the event nothing still happens, try changing "const" node values to 2 & 3
& if you desire the bottle to be shown, click "switch" to reveal
James
for .3dm & .nod file see:

Hi Alberto,
How i can use it ?
Must i name object ?
Thanks a lot.
From: Finema
Thanks a lot James
It's very good
But i have an error when i want to change the bottle.
UNSUPPORTED POLYGON TYPE 15
From: speedy (AL2000)
Hi Finema
you simply have to open the file
and run ... all the data is in the file, there are not any
referenced objects
best

From: Finema
Al,
You don't join a 3dm file
I think some .js are missing in my node editor
mflowObj is red
thanks

Hi Finema,
>> error when i want to change the bottle. UNSUPPORTED POLYGON TYPE 15 << .
The issue is the indexing of the surfaces of the bottle.
I have updated my previous post with new nod file
& instructions
James
From: Finema
Hi James
That don't work for me
Nothing happen when i modify the bottle or i have message error
I have change index , quit , reopen but no way
Thanks again for your time
From: James (JFH)
Finema, is the modified bottle named " bottle"?
From: Finema
yes
i join the 3dm file with the new bottle
thanks
From: James (JFH)
It works with "surface index" switch set to 0
Did you read instruction on my earlier post?
From: Finema
yes i've read it
but i've tested with 2 and 3
it works with 0
thanks a lot James , it's really usefull for me to design pattern on model !!!
From: speedy (AL2000)
Hi Finema
You can Replace the mFlow node that appears in red
with original Flow node, which you find under the Trasform Tool ( Max's Tool)
just make the connections in and out
with the other nodes, as well as for actual mFlow node ...
I hope I was clear, it's easy enough
Have a nice day
alberto
