Hi Michael,

Oh Michael, i think you opened up tons of possibilities for us now, with this cool tip... :-)

I just used this for a Voronoi Text example were i increased the points to get a nicer text pattern.

Combining this now with extrusions and NSided caps and later bringing it into ZBrush, for
example, should bring up lot of cool things not seen before, when it comes to 3D text models
renderings... :-)

I mean something like this, not finished of course.

But IMHO the pattern looks now nicer, because of the evenly
spaced denser points.

He he, yes this could be an interesting field to be more explored...

But i think when i do this i have to much geometry with caps etc., for my little iMac.

So i do now first tests with math related doodles, without caps, to keep the polygon count low in MoI.

I've noticed that pre-selected points do not have to be in the z = 0 plane.
The voronoi script seems to ignore the z values (?) of the points, and treat them as if they were in the z = 0 plane.

Does it possible to strain the number of sides of polygons ?
so 4 will done only quadrangles, 5 hexagons etc...

for some connexion with this sort of thing! ;)

Voronoi is the dual of Delaunay Triangulation.

You will have to experiment a bit with drawing some triangles to understand how Voronoi works.

Very cool this kind of "Text Voronoi art"!! Very cool!!

A sort of...."specialized branch" of very nice "industrial design" IMHO.

As a little test you can try the following, draw some random connected triangles and use Michael's
Circumcenter script. Once you have the points connect them with straight lines and voilá you have
a Voronoi Diagram over you triangles. :-) You can use of course Max's Voronoi script, but this way
you see the process better.

Works like a charm. Michael's suggestion also works very well. Good to know the base manual operation. Getting spoiled with these amazing scripts.

Hi Michael,

thank you! I may do small pieces from some of them later, to print out in color
on our 3D printer at work.
