Hi Juraj,

It's %appdata%\Moi - backing up %appdata%\Moi will back up all the settings that MoI will save in moi.ini , and your license key, and any mods and additional command scripts that you have installed there.
> or is some of that part of program files folder?
The program files folder does have all the default command scripts like Line, sphere, etc... but those do not change after it is installed so you can back that up just once or back up the installer.
> - I use syncthing to sync my files and as a personal "cloud". MOI folder is part of that.
So if you sync %appdata%\Moi on your other machine to %appdata%\Moi on your main one that should copy your settings and customizations over to the other machine.

If you make it portable and contained privately inside of just one single folder you will keep on running into the problem where a new install won't see all the customizations and settings automatically because you're not storing them in a common central location that will be shared between all installs.
So making it portable is what is preventing your new install from being automatically synched up.
If you want everything synced, being portable does not help with that it actually messes it up when you install a new version.
Do not make it portable and make %appdata%\Moi to be synced between different machines. If you do that you should get the same settings and customizations on everything including new installs.

I understand.
I will back up appdata moi folder regularly to keep things in order.
Thanks for your time and help.
Please, keep up the good work.

Hallo Michael,
Die V5 sollte ja schon vor ca. einem Jahr erscheinen. Wann ist es denn nun soweit? Ich möchte nicht die V4 kaufen und dann die V5 noch mal extra bezahlen.
Liebe Grüße
Peter

Hi Peter, sorry I'm still not sure when the final release of v5 will be. I've been waiting for fixes for the ACIS library.
They have just recently sent a bunch of fixes so hopefully not too much longer.
