Hi Bob, yes if you can post the .3dm model file that helps lot to understand your question a lot better.

What process are you currently using to make the hole?

Is it by using the Edit > Trim command?

If so then don't do it that way, instead use the Construct > Boolean > Difference command.

The Edit > Trim command works just on surfaces. After you use Trim to cut a solid it won't be a solid anymore it will be a surface with an opening in it.

But the booleans work on solid volumes instead of only surfaces. When you use a boolean command to cut a solid, it will keep the "side walls" of the cutting pieces so the result will be a solid and not open surfaces.

That's my best guess at what you might be running into just from your written description. If that's not it please post the .3dm model file so I can get a better idea of what you are running into.

I have attached the image that I was referring to. It is actually the skid plates on a designed horseshoe. The holes were left behind when I reduced the thickness of the skid plate, leaving the holes behind. I need to fill them in all of the 4 places it occurs. Thank You...Bob

Sorry, it is not a ball. I was trying to identify what my problem was relative to 4 holes in the skid plates.
I need to remove them. Thanks....Bob

Hi Bob, so to remove those holes the easiest method is the "untrim" process that Burr mentions above.

First select the inner "side wall" surface of a hole:



Delete that, there will now be open edges:



Select those edges:



Use Delete to remove the trimming boundaries that contains those edges:

Thank You, Michael...I should have remembered the process. It's been a while since I decided to get back into designing horseshoes.
I purchased an upgrade version of v4 in April. Is there any reason to do anything more to upgrade my version?

Hello BurrMan, What do you mean?

Could u elaborate it more or send a photo?

I know u can have your sphere back like the way it was in the beginning if you have the hole where there is not latitudinal line! by just deleting the circle indicating the hole!

Surface edges don't stop you from being able to untrim the surface. That would be an indication you need to separate more, or just select more edges for the untrim to work (usually resulting in more "re-trimming to get back all the WANTED boundries)
