Hi Felix, one reason I was asking is that it can be useful to adjust those setting to be rougher if you're working with particularly large models, because a rougher display mesh will also consume less memory...

So if you're working on huge models where it is nearly consuming all available memory, turning those settings to an angle of something like 25 degrees and unchecking "Add detail to inflections" will help reduce memory consumption but then make more of these kinds of display glitches as a side effect.
