Distance and angle movement confusion

Newby question...

I want to move or copy (same issue) an object by a specific distance and angle - and I'm clearly missing something. Can anyone educate me please. Using latest v4 beta on Windows 10.

Circle drawn in top view and selected.
Click copy command.
Command palette requests base point: left click to establish that base point.
Command palette requests target point...
I put the text cursor into the 'd' field, type number, tab to 'angle filed' type number. Hit enter.
Nothing happens.
Hit enter again - I just exit the command with no result.

If there is one thing that is guaranteed to lead you to the answer... it's posting a message on a forum.
For me it normally happens about 30 seconds after hitting send : )

It seems you have to move the mouse for the movement to refresh - and then right click to confirm the target point and end the command. Yes?

I was expecting the move to refresh and end as I hit 'enter' in the angle box...

Hi Viewbyte, yes that's correct, those distance and angle fields you were using activate "distance constraint" and "angle constraint" which will alter the behavior of the next point pick using the mouse.

If you want to enter in a distance/angle value to be taken immediately, that is possible by using polar coordinate format in the x/y/z input control.

To do that, on the "Pick target point" step of the copy command, type in (no need to click, if you type numbers they will go into the x/y/z control automatically) your distance value followed by the < symbol followed by the angle and then push Enter.

So for example if you want it a distance of 5 units and an angle of 45 degrees from the base point, type in:

5<45 [enter]

The different kinds of point inputs you can use are listed here:

Almost - the right click to end the command isn't to confirm the target point, it's to end the command because the Transform > Copy command will allow you to click multiple target points to make a copy at each one. So you right-click or push "Done" to signal that you don't want to make any more copies.
