Question about CustomUI

Hi,

I was testing out the CustomUI "add-on" for Moi v4.

I tried to establish two object library locations using:

Object Library 1;MOI\objects
Object Library 2;C:\Users\fcw\Documents\3D Printing\Objects

While it objects in the Object Library 2 were listed by name the icon did not appear.

If those same objects were moved to Object Library 1 the icon DID appear.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Frederick

Hi fcwilt

I just set up a second Object Library2, in AppData, and it works fine.
There were several steps.
Anton mentions possibility, but the details are sketchy:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=8824.16

1. Copy 70 ObjLibrary.js, to 71 ObjLibrary2.js, in the AppData startup folder. (My folder is called MoIAppData)
Edit 71 ObjLibrary2.js by: (for example):
renaming title line to "ObjLibrary2".
renaming menu line to "ObjLibrary2".

2. In the AppData customUI folder, by copy, rename, and edit, make ObjLibrary2.cfg, containing "Object Library;MOI\objects2".
also make ObjLibrary2.menu and edit the file in 4 places to "ObjLibrary2".
(Separate copies were made, rather than editing the original two files.)

3. Create objects2 folder in the AppData\Roaming folder, next to existing objects folder.

Admin. Priv. not needed for AppData, AFAIK, but may be needed for other locations?
(Windows10, MoI4Beta) (So MoI3 method would be a bit different?)

Hi,

I can try that.

I thought that in the version of CustomUI that works with Moi 4 that the only thing needed was to edit ObjLibrary.cfg.htm in AppData\Roaming\Moi\customui

If I do that the second one library name shows up in Moi. I can select and use the objects there, it's just that the icons don't display.

I'll take a look at your approach.

Thanks.

Frederick
