3d print output too small

Good day.

I have created a few items all in mm with grid size 1x1mm.
3printed them everything came out great. I am using prusa slicer as well.

I needed to print out text I knew it needed to be 4cm so I used cm in unit system.
And it came way too small in prusa slices not even printable I have tried it several times same results.

So I switched back to mm it came out good again.

Is there something to lookout here?
I will be using 3 unit system mm,cm,inch.

Thank you!

Hi Matadem, the .stl file format does not have any method in it to label the unit system that its coordinates are in. So when you switched to a different unit system, the slicer software does not have any way to automatically know that the coordinates were now in cm instead of mm and just interpreted them as mm.

Check in your slicer software if there is an option you can set to tell it the unit system for the .stl file. If there is not an option for that and it only expects to receive units in mm then you'll need to make sure to export out in mm from MoI.

In MoI v4 there is a new option under Options > Import/Export > STL options > "Export units conversion" which you can set which will rescale the output .stl file into a specific target unit system. If you set that then that might be more convenient since you would not have to switch your main unit system over to mm when you do the export:
