( searched and couldn't seem to find anything on the subject )

any plans to add the ability to rotate / translate faces ?

this vid by alex senechal is a good example of how powerful those features are for concepting. exploration of form etc

Hi meanGoreng, you can use the Construct > Extrude command to get some level of that currently. If you extrude a face sub-object of a solid it will automatically perform a boolean with the main piece, so you can get results like this:

I do want to have it also work for rotation and other transforms in the future as well but it is pretty difficult to implement though because it depends on having a good mechanism for extending the surrounding surfaces and trim boundaries which is not an easy task. If I am able to integrate a different geometry kernel in the future for improving filleting this type of local face replacement will probably be a target as well.

The geometry library that MoI currently uses does not have a very good mechanism for it, that's why it is not implemented fully in MoI right now.

Hi,
MoI is not a parametric tool, just a superb application for designer and concepters :)

I haven't thought about this particular rotation of Fillet but if you can draw the result with Moi
I believe that you can do it also with Elephant! ;)
Will be maybe not exactly the same animation than Fusion but the result will be the same! ;)

Here an horizontal rotation not yet that you want but just for show Elephant possibilities! ;)
Of course Start End Fillets can be variable if needing... not made completly here :)

And the mystery quasi revealed! :) Hyper simplex : the Pivot point is not yet moving itself!
What a design editor! Thx to Max Smirnov for make such prodigies! Funny challenge...

now THAT is some magic

with what fusion is doing. it's not restricted to chamfers as such. just any valid face selection can be rotated. and you can set the pivot point etc

Yes of course ;) It's named "total direct modeling"
Moi is "partial direct modeling" in evolution! ;)

@Corchet

Oui mais non! On peut utiliser Fusion 360 de façon gratuite! ;)

Je l'utilise ainsi depuis des lustres! :)

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-activate-start-up-or-educational-licensing-for-Fusion-360.html
