Hello all,

I have been searching everywhere I can't seem to find the Keep Separate button with the extrude operation! when I try to extrude it always creates another solid which I don't want, is there away to make the Keep Separate tick box appear. Thanks

Effectively the "Keep Separate" is missing under the Button "Both Side" !
A mystery for Michael!

Ok I have found! You use the Moi V 2!
And this function was not yet existed! ;)

So in this case
it's because you select a curve and not a surface from a volume before the extrusion! ;)

Hi Amied, yes like Pilou says above the automatic booleans (which can be disabled with "Keep separate") in Extrude are only enabled if you have selected a face on a solid as the object to extrude. If you have selected a curve that will not automatically boolean but that is something I want to add in the future.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the reply! I have top face selected but still gives me solid if I extrude.

Have you separated it before extrude or just selected from the solid ?

Hi Amied, the problem is from using a cracked V3 old beta version. That function for automatic booleans with face extrudes is in the final v3 release, not in that old beta release.

If you purchased MoI you can get a download of the final version by putting in your license key here:
http://moi3d.com/beta.htm .

If you're using a cracked version please do not ask for support for it here on the official forum.

Thanks, - Michael

Hi all,
I have strange issue with extrusion that I cannot understand.
I try to extrude 2 faces of the solid and it will extrude only one and not the second (even if I try separately).
I spend like 30 minutes already trying to figure what might be wrong for this I think very simple operation.

Attached is the gif and model if anyone is able to explain I would appreciate.

Thanks.
Juraj

Hi Mr. Yuri, I noticed that the edges along the top of the object are fragmented into many small edge pieces:

One of the pieces is very small, like only 0.0015 units in length:

I think it's that little tiny edge with a length close to the fitting tolerance that is causing trouble.

It's only the ones on the top that are fragmented like that, the ones on the bottom seem ok.

I've attached a reconstructed version made by extruding the bottom curves, I think it should behave better now.

Do you remember what process you used to build this object? It could be good if I can figure out why the top edges were broken up into so many different edges. Maybe I can fix whatever made it get fragmented.

- Michael

Show points ... give a strange result on your construction circles

better result if you apply Rebuild on your draw elements

and the parasite vertical line disappear

now you can extrude the upper disk
