Hi Marco, there isn't any way to only untrim just a single edge. You can untrim the entire outer boundary and then you would need to retrim the surface.
It can be good to use Ctrl+C on some of the key edges before you do the untrim, then paste them in and use them as references to make the cutting objects that you would need.
If you can post your .3dm model file I can give you an example with it.
In the future I do want to make it possible to untrim just one piece of a boundary like you're asking. That will involve some operations like extending and intersecting the surrounding edges and trying to deal with cases where they might not intersect.
