Custom UI for PC vs Mac

Hi Guys,

Trying to set up Max's CustomUI.2.0.beta2 for my PC in MoI V4 beta. Did this setup for my Mac a while back...new to PCs, not sure where the files go. I read a bunch of the links for setting this up on the forum...but still having an issue.

Placed the CustomUI.2.0.beta2 folder in Users>UserName>AppData>Roaming>Moi...but no luck. Not sure if this Max UI folder is in the V3 or V4 directory. The custom tool bar doesn't show up. Seems I have two sets of files. See attached images.

Commands and startup folders are empty in the directory.

Thx!

Hi mat, when you unzip the CustomUI.2.0.beta2.zip file there will be 3 folders contained inside it: "customui", "objects", and "startup".

These folders should be copied to the MoI appdata folder.

You can get to the MoI appdata folder by putting in %AppData%\MoI in the address bar, it will expand to C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Moi

So when you have done that it means you should have this structure:

C:\Users\mat\AppData\Roaming\Moi\customui
C:\Users\mat\AppData\Roaming\Moi\objects
C:\Users\mat\AppData\Roaming\Moi\startup

One thing to note is there will be an already existing startup folder. The contents of the startup folder in the .zip should be merged into the existing one.

So the process should go like this - start by unzipping the CustomUI.2.0.beta2.zip to some other location first like to your desktop.

Then inside of it the unzipped result, copy the customui and objects folders into %AppData%\MoI, these will be new folders inside %AppData%\Moi.

Then go into the contents of the startup folder from the .zip and copy those files into the already existing %AppData%\MoI\startup folder.

Hi Michael,

That worked great. Thank you!

Everything seems to be working with the custom toolbar except the "LightingOptions.htm" file in the Command folder is not showing any of the "MajikPrimer" lighting options in the LightingPresets button in the toolbar. The buttons says "Lighting Options add-on not found".

I also noticed if I change the file name of the Start Up tools...the tools are still visible on the toolbar. I was looking to see how to turn on/off the visibility of some of the toolbar buttons I'm not using, other than deleting the file itself.

Thx!

M

I think that one depends on lighting settings having been saved in your moi.ini file by this other plugin:

If you copy over your moi.ini file that will probably make it work.

I'd recommend making a sibling folder to startup, something like "startup_bak" for example. If you want to disable a startup file, move it over to that other folder and if you want to re-enable it, move it back to regular startup.
