Chamfer problem

Yesterday I discovered a problem with two-distance chamfering. I mucked about with it a bit today, and have been able to narrow it down to this: An edge on a surface that has been edited will ignore one of the values in a two-distance chamfer.

If you look at the file attached all edges will chamfer correctly, except the ones that are on the surface shared by the two cylinders that have been booleaned together.

Hi Linker, thanks for reporting this.

There was a problem where if MoI couldn't decide how to sort the faces into different groups for which ones get distance 1 and which ones get distance 2, it would fall back to just using distance 1 everywhere.

This has been fixed up with this patch: http://moi3d.com/beta/Sep4_patch1.zip (unzip and copy moi_lib.dll over top of the old one in the MoI folder under c:\Program Files).

With that patch in place, MoI is able to do a better job assigning the distances to different faces, so your example should work fine with that patch in place, if you have selected edges to chamfer.

If you select the entire object instead of of edges of the object, MoI won't attempt to automatically sort it into different distance 1 and distance 2 groups, so it will still fall back to using distance 1 if the "whole object" is selected.
