Does anyone know if there is a way to stretch a placed image or scale it "non-proportionally"?
Thanks
Terry

Hi Terry, there is no way set up in the background image UI to have it at a non-proportional scale. You need to edit the image in an image processing or paint program and stretch it there before bringing it into MoI.

Thank you Michael. That would be a useful feature.

Is there any way to scale it proportionally about a known dimensional reference (to get an image to roughly match it's real world dimensions - say by clicking on one point on a plan, and another and having the image scale to meet it) I agree that would be a fantastic feature (rather than jiggling the anchors, checking, moving, checking!) SkUp has that construction tool re-scale which saves a great deal of fiddling, especially when tracing plans ;)

Hi Rich,

Yes, that's what the "Align" button in the View > Image command does. That lets you pick 2 points on the image as the reference, then 2 points in model space for how to map the image line into model space.

It will move, rotate, and scale the image so that the image reference line matches the model space line.
