Hi,
I'm trying to animate a model with the nodeditor and need some help on how to rotate an object around a pivot that is at 45 degrees.
Is there some node that will set the cplane along the 45 degrees ?
The photo shows the basics of what I need.
Cheers
Barry

You can rotate anything with a step Angle rotation in using the Progression Node
(scroll for see the animation)

and some ideas about the Rotation :)

I don't remember a CPlane Node Existing...

Hi Pilou,
rotating about the X,Y and Z is not my problem. The axis of rotation is around the pivot pin which is at 45 degrees.
In the photo I show a block and pivot pin square to the X,Y and Z axis so rotating around the pivot pin is no problem
but the second block & pivot pin are at an angle at 45 degrees and to achieve a rotation around that axis is my issue.
Cheers
Barry

It's not the same than this...
Put your object on the X Axe
Make a first rotation around X of any ° wanted
then result with a second rotation around Z of 45 ° ?

Hi Pilou,
no the block needs to be on the 45 degree axis when rotated.
Cheers

So Maybe with this Orient Node before rotation we can rotate anything on its own axe
(defined by 2 points XYZ (Top / Bottom)

Not yet tested but that must maybe work :)

Following is just one point (Bottom)

Hi Pilou,
by adding a pivot line and using the getCrvSFrame works see photo.
Cheers

Excellent! Bravo! So the simulation of the Transform / Rotation / Rotate Axis
More simple than my 2 points Top Bottom :) (that i have never found! )
