Fillet joined planars

I was trying to fillet the edges of this somewhat complicated model:

I figured the trouble might be coming from the arcs and networks, so I built a simplified version for testing by joining planar faces. The filleting still didn't work well:

I then extracted the edges and used them as profiles for a loft operation:

To my surprise, now the filleting works fine.

Is there anything wrong with using joined planar faces to build a solid?

Hi Andre,

Yes, if you want to fillet it - the filleting engine will usually get confused with planes being split up into multiple coplanar fragments instead of one large plane.

One way to clean up those areas is to delete the fragments then select the object and use Construct > Planar which will build one large plane face there and join it in.
