Hello. I just purchased MoI and I've made a few models so far. I say "Where have I been?" because I was not aware of MoI until very recently. That's not like me, I am usually pretty aware when it comes to 3D software. I use Lightwave and Zbrush mostly, but I have many modeling, rendering and UV tools ect. I have been messing with Zbrush for a couple of years with the goal of creating some good hard surface models, there are a lot of tutorials for hard surface using Zbrush, but it is not really the right tool for this. I am very happy with the results I'm getting with MoI, and very quickly I might add. MoI is not the first Nurbs tool I have used. My first 3D program was Truespace, which did both Nurbs and Polygon modeling. I also bought Amapi Pro many years ago which was a Nurbs program, both are extinct now, sorry to say. MoI is far more usable for Nurbs than either of those programs, I love it. I worked on Solidworks for about six years before I retired. Solidworks and MoI are similar in that you don't need a thousand tools to create practically anything you desire. I made 3D parts for packaging machines all day long in Solidworks and only needed about 4 or 5 tools. So far, the first three models i made with MoI turned out pretty decent, but each had at least one issue where I could not chamfer some edges I wanted to. Those where practice pieces and I don't have much time into them. My fourth model is a keeper, I will try to attach a screen grab of it, and I am quite happy with it. I had a reference image, it seems to be a real picture of a machine part, possibly a gyro of some sort. I'd like to thank Arrimus 3D and Chip Walters for the You Tube videos that inspired me to purchase MoI 3D. I practically knew how to use the program before I downloaded it. I did not even run the trial version I was so certain that I had to have it.
