My Samsung SSD 850 PRO appears to have completely failed, without warning. The room had been about 100 F. :-(

The computer booted off of the old hard drive, windows 7...

That's terrible Brian! That's supposed to be a good one too.

Maybe try with a different connector?

Two days later, and with Amazon delivery of new SSD, Samsung 860 EVO, only 520 GB, just over $100:
After plugging in the new SSD, it was recognized by the motherboard BIOS. The old SSD was unrecognized.
Bios boot temporarily set to USB drive. USB drive pre-prepped online with latest Windows 10 was used to install Windows 10 on SSD, as C drive. Registration/Authentication was quick and simple, as PC had previously had legit copy of Windows 10.

MoI3 and 4 reinstalled.

OneDrive has been syncing for the past few hours, which (I think),partly interfers/delays downloads of Max's programs, Notepad++, etc.

I think that concise documentation for installation of Nodeeditor would be helpful.
Also %APPDATA% location instructions, and changing file explorer View to include display of APPDATA folder.

My backup and cloning of C drive has been lax, once again...

I do not have either, but recent PC motherboards have a "M2 slot", into which a Samsung 970 EVO Plus can be installed.
It is supposed to be even faster than 850 EVO ssd.

The autopsy of the old SSD awaits special micro screwdriver, and will void warranty...

Hi Brian, I'm glad you got up and running again!

> I think that concise documentation for installation of Nodeeditor would be helpful.

There's some instructions here:
http://moi3d.com/wiki/Nodeeditor

> Also %APPDATA% location instructions, and changing file explorer View to include display of APPDATA folder.

If you push the Windows key and then type in %APPDATA%\Moi, that should take you there.

Here's what I use since years, never failed.

Does BYTE by BYTE validation if you tell it to. Never had a backup I couldn't read.

It's fast, 100% reliable and even lets you mount the backup as a drive, so you can drag & drop files needed from it, without having to restore a complete drive. (even straight from the backup, if you didn't mount it as a drive)

Highly recommended..
