X,Y,Z object alignment

Hi, I am new to and am learning to use Moi.
This is very good software and am enjoying using the many scripts available.
Q:
Would there be a script to align several objects/solids into perfect spatial/volumetric alignment..
Having some difficulty doing this without manually positioning. And even then, cannot get it perfect.
Boundary or perimeter dimensions of rudimentary shapes are out of alignment.
Am I missing something?

Hi 3d2cnc, is it possible for you to post the .3dm model file so I could take a look?

How are you creating the polygon to begin with? There is a polygon drawing tool under Draw Curve > Polygon > Star which is an easier way to make an exact star shape like that rather than moving individual points around.

If you did want to do it with manual placement of points, I'd probably try drawing a circle and some lines to set up some intersection snap points.

I do not see a center point, and the outer pentagon appears to have a curved bottom.
Other sides appear to be curved, or is it an optical illusion?
Polygon command should make this drawing easy...

In other situations, I would mention the Align commands, and Construction Lines...And even the Array command...

If this is some sort of imported graphic, perhaps re-draw it, with the graphic serving as a rough guide...if precise and uniform geometry is desired...
Using View Image can make a "tracing" drawing guide as well.

As far as "reproducing" a graphic, with imprecise symmetry such as this,

The drawing has 5 fold symmetry, so by establishing an estimated center point, and about 5 distinct master points, each at a respective "average" distance from the center,
1/5th the graphic can be reproduced with MoI tools, and then circular arrayed. (or use the 5 points with polygon type tools.)

Thank you for helping.

What was used:

Draw Curve, from Moi sidepane.

Selected: Polygon Star, Sides 5, Style Custom.

Then;

Transform, Align, Pick alignment point,

Horizontal center & Vertical center were used.

Hi 3d2cnc, the Transform > Align command uses the center of the object's bounding box as the point to align. That won't do what you need on a star polygon because the top point of it sticks out further than the bottom 2 legs.

So you would instead need to use the Transform > Move command to do the placement, not Transform > Align. Or better yet is to just draw it in the desired place from the start and don't try to use an additional Align on it.

Thank-you, Michael.
The bounding box...of course. Should have known it would simple.
Certainly a Learning curve.

Verified..draw in place.

Hi 3d2cnc,

You should document your procedure, as a method to "distress" graphics to look more natural, and less artificial :-)
