Import file - 'all supported' as default

Hi,

I don't is this possible or not but I would like to configure 'all supported' as the default option for the import. I lose a lot of time setting this option over and over again as I import different formats not just .3dm.

I would even make it default if you ask me overall considering this state does not seem to be saved.

Thank you!

Hi agonyii,

re:

It should be saved for any further uses during the same program session.

So for example if you do File > Import and then choose "All supported" and import a file, then repeat that process in that same running program session, it should default to what you last chose.

It's only if you completely exit the program and start up a new session that you should see a different result.

Is that what you are seeing there or do you not see any within-same-session saved state?

It's working exactly the way you describe it.

The problem is that I run Moi in multiple sessions, and I also tend to open it and close often. Too many repetitive actions and it becomes annoying. As I depend on Moi quite a lot, so I've decided to make a post about this issue hoping to find some better solution.

Thank you for the support and instant reply.

Hi agonyii, how about if I put in an option to have "All supported" at the top of the list instead of at the bottom of the list. Then it would become the initial default since the one at the top of the list is the initial default.

Maybe I should just switch it to the top of the list by default, it is already that way for Mac. I put it at the bottom of the list because I checked some standard Windows programs like Notepad and WordPad and that's where they put it. But I checked a few more now and I see that MS Office programs put it at the top of the list so I guess having it at the bottom is not really as widespread as I had previously thought.

Yes, that would be awesome because all supported files will then become the default. If you want to filter something out then you should choose the appropriate format bellow. That's how I see filter(ing) work in general not just in my opinion.

Thank you

Hi agonyii, ok I've got it set up like that ("all supported" at the top of the list and so being the initial default) for the next v4 beta now. If this is problematic for anyone I've put in a moi.ini flag to revert to the previous behavior with it on the bottom of the list.

Thanks,
- Michael

+1

"all supported" as default option is more logical for import files.

Even though I am all for the new import functionality I really dig the fact you can still revert back. Exposing options in the config, this is what I loved about Moi from the Day 01. Thank you Michael!
