Hi,

is there an easy way to change the distance of the near clipping plane?

Thanks,
Sven

Okay,

looks like the plane clipping was caused by a small solid that somehow ended up far, far away from the objects I was actually working on. Just deleted it and all is good again :)

Hi Sven, sounds like you have figured it out but just to answer your original question - sorry no there isn't any way to manually set the near clipping plane it is handled automatically. But like you saw something way far away will tend to cause problems with it. You can also switch to a parallel projection under Options > View > "3D view projection". It doesn't have the same kind of non-linear depth value problems that are kind of inherent in the way perspective depth buffering is handled in video cards.

Hi Michael,

thanks for the tip, didn't know about the parallel projection option. Nice way to see and judge a design in a different "light" :)
