For the last several weeks, since upgrading to Windows 10, I've been using OneDrive a lot, which is very nice to permit file usage between home and work.
(Rather than using USB drives and forgetting to pocket them.)
With super slow internet at work synchronization delay is not too bad.

My question is does anyone have any thoughts on potential problems of this workflow?

Almost nothing. I work everyday with OneDrive on my PCs, iPadPro and my Android smartphones and I have almost no problem.

Only sometimes OneDrive needs a little bit more time to synchronize, but nothing else.

I use the OneDrive of 1TB boundled with my "Microsoft Office365 Personal" annual subscription.

I kinda like Mega (https://mega.nz/), you can have 50Gb storage for free, and it work much faster than my google drive, especially with huge files.
And there is a Linux client !

can create teams where you can communicate encrypted and share files
too with teams (encrypted). And of course you have encrypted chats
too.
