Spirit of Berlin

I'm two weeks into MoI and learned a ton already. So I decided to pour it all into a more complex personal project. Say hello to the "Spirit of Berlin", a Dieselpunk bike from the future that never was. It is of course a homage to Syd Mead, one of the greatest concept artists out there.

Anyway, I'm in love with this program and I'm not going back to shuffling polygons around :)

Sven

Edit: I tried to get the pictures into a certain order but the MoI page has its own thoughts about that

Very beautiful renderings with a very good choice of the materials!
Very pleasant to the eye.

Congrats!!

I also like very much the model!
Even if its seems to be not complex, is well balanced and also fashinating.

Congrats again!

Great job Sven, love the modern/retro combo design!

If you're ever in Maine you should check out the Owl's Head Transportation Museum, this is an actual machine there:

Hi all,

thanks a lot. Glad that you like the Spirit of Berlin :)

@FED I used Blender's Cycles Render Engine to render the images. I have attached an example of the world node setup I usually use. But please note that the final picture is not what falls out of Cycles. I render different render passes (diffuse, specular, ao, etc.) which gives me a lot of freedom for post work in 2D.

Best,
Sven

Edit: materials are usually based on the Disney Principled BSDF shader which is beautifully integrated into Blender
