Sweep between 2 curves - use only a portion of those curves

Hi,
a feature that would be killer: a way to sweep between 2 curves (or more) but instead of using the full lenght of the curves, you could manually click some limits. It is especially usefull when you are sweeping between 2 curves that have very different lenght (e.g. one is very short and the other one super long, you would like the surface to have the lenght of the smaller curve)
Here's my actual scenario (see attached picture): i built a quick and rough wireframe vehicle - made with curves. I would now like to create some quick surfaces in between those curves but for this workflow to work, I need to use only portions of each curves, otherwise I would have to control the lenght of each curves or build some cross sections
It's a workflow I use in Catia and it might be possible to implement in MOI. In some ways, it's a bit similar to the points you drag after doing a blend surface - to adjust the alignment of the cv's.
If my explanations are not clear enough I can explain with step by step example images.
Best regards

You have yet some tools like CMorph or LineWeb for simulate some surfaces between any parts or curves...

A cool tut ;)

It is not exactly what I was looking for but it's a very interesting tool that I'll investigate, it could certainly automate the cross-sectionning
Thanks for the hint!

My explanations were poor so I'm adding an example in GIF format:

Hi Fred, you should be able to control the length by using the Edit > Trim command to cut longer pieces to the length you want.

Or you might also try the Construct > Network command instead of sweep, it will internally trim off excess ends unlike sweep.

Sweep is set up to use the full length of the curve so you can do one rail sweeps like this with one profile at the center of the rail:

I just discovered we can trigger the "Add trim point" with a shortcut in Edit > Trim = AWESOME

Hi Fred, yes that's new in v4. You may have already seen it but it is mentioned in the Dec-11-2017 v4 release notes:
http://moi3d.com/wiki/V4Beta#Dec-11-2017

So with that you can set up a keyboard shortcut that also triggers different UI actions like pushing a button or changing a drop-down setting.
