Hello!

Many thanks to all moi enthusiastic, I also like to work with it and could learn a lot from the forum.

Now I would have liked to know:
Is there a way to copy a color for a renamed style?

Or another way:
I work with windows8.
How can i change the predefined colors?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Franz

Maybe you can make a file 3dm with a simple cube with any colors you want !
Then save it and reload it each time you don't want default colors...

By using the Style Tools, another Style can have a different name, and the same color as another style, by entering the same rgb values...

Hello!

Thanks for Your help.
Now I want to show you why I need this, it´s really an exceptional application of Moi.

We're woodworkers.
In order to reduce the chaos of our wood store, each access and consumption of wood stacks is represented by cubes, which correspond in volume to the stock level. When selecting a type of wood, wood thickness, the storage location and the quantity of storage can be determined.
The condition is that access and consumption are always well updated...
Hope it works.

The pictures show the procedure for volume determination.
Thanks also to Max Smirnov, without him this would not be possible ...

Hi Franz, so to change the predefined colors that MoI uses at program startup or File > New, get the styles set up how you want and then save out to a .3dm file. Then set that file as the startup template under Options > General > Template file.

When a template file is set, MoI will read the styles from it to use as your default set when you launch MoI or do File > New.

For copying a color to a new style, you can use copy/paste to do that. In the "Edit styles" dialog right-click on the original style which is a shortcut for "Edit", then click on the color swatch to bring up the color picker. Select the text in the "HTML:" field on the color picker since that is the easiest way to get all of r,g,b v color values in one field, then go edit the new style and paste that in to that same field over there.

Hello Michael!

Thanks for the explanation, I'll try this. But I'm still very happy now, because apparently moi is also suitable as a "3D wood storage program".

Hello All!

I don't know if I got that right. I have been personalizing my styles in the template file for some time.
Now I was able to duplicate and copy the colors under a different name:
First rename the style in the edit field, then close the edit field and "Add default styles" again.
So I also get the color of the template file with the original name of the template file again in addition
and have 2 styles with the same color and different name.
So duplicating and renaming style colors works well.

Thanks, Franz
