Hey Marc,

Yes. Rock.

Mogami W2524 is very good cable, sheilded well. Dispite what you may read, makes a huge difference. Expensive to buy, not bad if you make your own (i do)

Yes, it can take time to track down what can be in several areas.

Do you have a chain in the loop? Try bypass that.

Also, a ground loop in the ac could be the cause. If you dont have a device with a ground lift, you can try a different outlet, or better yet, a differet path to breaker being sure to unplug other components from the loop to check... good luck!

Hi Burr,

Yes sir, rock from the Islands!!
We play a mostly funk instrumental blend.

Thanks for the pointers, very generous of you.

I've tried on different amps/cables and get the same results

I will try and draw a schematic of how it is wired when I get some time, it will help me double check it.
The jungle of cables in the pit can be confusing.

Marc

"Funk instumental"

In the 70's i was huge on billy cobham, tony williams, return to forever stuff..... close! Has to be rock now. Cant remember more than 3 chords! :o

Drawing out the wire pile will help for sure. My brother recently replaced and rewired a michael kelly semi hollow and needed a second pair of eyes rewiring. Took us a good 2 hours to stare at it and follow!

Anyway, low B all the way brother!!!

I'm in the right place to make this question :)

In the early 80's i have bought a second hand Gibson Les Paul De luxe, then sold when stopped to play
It was a Gibson:very comfortable to play, low action and so on,but had a little different shape of the body
The "horn" was very rounded, not as the classic Les Paul shape.I highligth in the picture the part

It was a Gibson? They produced something like that in the past?

Now,at 56 years i restarted to learn guitar :)

Hi Burr,

""""billy cobham, tony williams, return to forever stuff"""
I listened to them a lot !

Jeff beck's "Wired" is in my favorites of those years.
I recently discovered "Man-Child" by Herbie Hancock, good!

Hi Mauro,

I don't know guitars that much.
Maybe Burr, Neil or someone else would know.

Start with serial numbers:

http://archive.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/ProductSpotlight/GearAndInstruments/Gibson Serial Numbers/

Then move to the craftsmanship:

http://www.gibson.com/news-lifestyle/features/en-us/CounterfeitGibsons.aspx

You'll find even gibson can struggle with identity, but passing these first 2 tests is a big plus!

Great project. Question: 1 pickup but 3 pots? Why?

Hi Sebastian,

It's 3 stacked pots for a filter type pre amp, a bit like Alembic or Wal basses.
There should be a 4th one for passive tone but I didn't install it.

1 : Volume / Blend (dont use blend since it's a single pickup)
2 : Low pass filter / Amount
3 : High pass filter / Amount
