Hi Ralf,

> I was thinking its some new implementation which accesses the old commands...

Well, there is indeed some new stuff that can be used with old commands for setting default values used by controls in the command, that's what those example shortcuts for Trim and Extrude are doing.

But that particular one you were trying was a customized command that altered the box3pts workflow a little bit for what Andreas was wanting to do. So for that to work at the moment you'd need to install the custom command.

It probably does make sense to incorporate an option for that behavior within the regular box commands too though, but that's not how the box commands are currently set up, because they don't currently try to look at any default values for width and height. They're expecting the width and height inputs to be changed just by moving the mouse around. They only grab width and height values from the controls if you type stuff directly in them.

Maybe I can tweak the new mechanism a little bit though - like if the control is marked as being non-persistent like the box width/height are, it should fire a UIEvent for that control (which will then trigger the script to get the values from them) rather than only setting the default. Maybe if I set that up then it would work with the regular existing box commands too.

Hi Marco,

re:
> P.s. please don't forget to resume the display of "snap" labels :)

Yes, that is one of the remaining display features that I was referring to.

Metin reporting for duty, Sir!

New MoI installed on MacOS High Sierra. First impressions are fine, no issues encountered yet. No crashes or freezes.

Regards,

The command "Print3D.js" is not included in the new beta(?)

Please consider adding "Nudge.js" to the "stock" commands(?)

- Brian

General Windows 7 observation, nothing to do with MoIBeta: When windows explorer is "docked" to half screen view,
and when preview is active, trying to highlight, copy or paste should not be done in the preview area, IMHO.

Hi Brian,

re:

Yeah I removed it since it didn't do anything. At one point in the past it was going to be for integrating with a separate program called Print3D which does not exist anymore.

Adding Nudge to the commands that ship with MoI would be great indeed. I couldn't live without it.

Hi Michael, I am no longer getting a crash we editing the shortcut keys but my changes are not being saved. I can change them and they will work until I close and re-start then the changes are lost. Manually editing the ini. won't work as my changes don't seem to "stick" there either.

Thanks,

Hi Shane,

this is because the backward compatibility to the Moi3 for Mac under wine - even the "winewindows" doesnt know about the "command" key and therefor moi translates them to Alt keys automaticly.
For me this backward compatibility is not necessary because i dont use v3 any more.

Hi shane yes there's a problem like Ralf describes with Cmd key shortcuts getting lost if you open V3, that's on my list to work on for the next release.

Hi Marco, Nudge means "to move by a small amount". It's a command that you can set up so your arrow keys will move objects by a small distance instead of using the mouse. More details here: http://kyticka.webzdarma.cz/3d/moi/#Nudge

Why not having to separate ini files for V3 and V4 on the Mac?

Hi Ralf, probably the fix will be to have separate sections inside the ini file, entirely separate ini files shouldn't be necessary.
