Hi Michael and others,

First of all I would like to say thankyou for taking the time to work on an affordable product, I have looked at most of the other programs I cant believe the prices they charge and I thought MS office was expensive but am looking forward to your V1 release.

I have been having a play and have found some flash tutorials but when I run them they go so fast I cant see whats happening any idea how to slow it down guys?

This is what I am currently trying to draw the Gantry sides http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=41340&d=1185554084 probably easy for most of you but as I am only just starting out I am having some problems just trying to learn the program.

So I guess what I am trying to say is it possible for someone to do some tutorials, simple ones like step by step keeping it simple for something like I am am trying to do.

Thanks in advance.

Willy

Seems you can make all your pieces as this!

Just take the exact measures!

Hi Willy, definitely there are going to be some more tutorials made, including some simple ones like you describe. It won't be too much longer before I'll be able to focus on that, maybe a few more weeks.

In the meantime, I wanted to make sure you knew about these links:

If you're getting stuck at a certain spot, please post the .3dm model file (preferably zipped up) here as an attachment, and that will help me see what particular problem you might be running into so I could give you some specific advice.

The general approach would be like Pilou shows above - draw some curves and then do an extrusion to create a solid. You've got to make sure that the curves for your outline touch one another at their ends though to form a completely closed loop.

One way that may be easier to guarantee that all the pieces touch is to draw just one polyline as the outline and then use Construct / Fillet to round off some corners of the polyline - that is kind of an easy way to place arcs at the corners in between line segments and have everything stay touching.

But definitely if you've got a file that you're struggling with, please post it.
