has anyone been able to get the solidworks 3dm import to work with SW06? i get a message saying "file name entered was, invalid, not found, locked or of an incompatible type".

You might try grabbing it from here (near the bottom of the page):

It says:

"2007 includes the Rhino Add-in

If you are using 2006 or older the following add-in can be downloaded: <....> "

that is the one i'm using (download). i don't have a .3dm from rhino to test if it works with that. could it be something in the header (text info at the beginning of the file)?

hmm. that didn't work either. got the same message.
i've tried reinstalling a couple of times too.

I guess you'll have to contact SolidWorks support for this one...
