Blend Curve Exact Length?

Hello,

Is there a way to force a blend curve to an exact length between two lines? For example I have two horizontal lines 10mm apart above one another along Z and would like to have a curve blend 50mm in length between those two lines. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Hi OSTexo, the general mechanism of NURBS doesn't incorporate length as a driving input. It's more like curve length is a side effect from control point placement and a knot vector. So in general it's not easy to specify length for things like a freeform bendy curve like a blend would be. I don't know of any way to do that currently, it would probably require some kind of specialized iterative processing approach.

Hello,

Thank you for the explanation. It makes sense about the iterative sort of approach. Would the situation be different if there was a midpoint anchor? Thanks.

Hi OSTexo,

re:

I don't think that would make any difference as far as targeting a specific length result.
