There are a couple:
First begin the rectangle, or the line, then invoke the corresponding script.

A possible bug?
If rounded rectangle is checked before the golden rectangle script is invoked, a square shows up as being golden.

Straight snap needs to be on, for the Golden Rectangle Script.
(I have not tried all of the snap combinations.)

(I normally leave all of the three yellow snap buttons on, most of the time.)

I assume you have the shortcut key set up. (I use Ctrl+Shft+G for the golden rectangle snap.)

Turn on Straight snap,
Select rectangle tool, and one corner point,
Hit the hotkey, combo,
Move the second point around by mouse, and a few Golden Rectangle snap lines will show up near the 1.618 side ratio,
then select next point on the dotted line.
(Labeling a square as Golden, I think is a very minor bug. IMHO)

Thank you very much Brian fpr your detailed description.

Strange but even following each step I dont get it to work.

Fortunately you have posted a link to an alternative script and with this I get the desired result !
