Find area of a closed curve?

I need to find the area of a closed curve (no straight edges). I'm aware of the CVolume script - Does one exist to calculate the area of a 2D (planar) closed curve?

I'm using MoI for my landscape design (I use MoI for everything!) and knowing the area of various sections will allow me to purchase the correct amount of topsoil and grass seed.

Hi Ed, the latest CVolume script from Max (from here: http://moi.maxsm.net/media/files/) can also do surface area as well. It needs a surface as the input though, not just a curve. So before using it, select your curve and run Construct > Planar to build a surface, then select that surface and run the _CVolume2 command.

On a solid, it shows you all of Volume, Surface area, Mass, and Density. On an individual surface it will show surface area only.

Exactly what I needed Michael! I had the prior version installed. Now I can write the specs for my landscape design :)
